Dina Matters joined the Inner Circle program and received her Essential Salon Owner’s Marketing Toolkit® in May 2009. Just a few months later, her salon is growing at a rapid rate – October 2009 was almost 50% up on October 2008 – and she’s now planning a chain of 5 salons, making herself ‘redundant’ from the business, and taking serious profits in the next few years.

Here’s what Dina says about her (so far) brief experience as a member of the Inner Circle salon marketing & mentoring program…

“We joined WSM in May of this year after hearing about the company from my sister who owns Contours Clinic of Balwyn in Melbourne. The recommendation came at a very good time as we were seeking a new style of marketing,  our current style of marketing was very expensive so it was costing a great deal of money and it wasn’t providing the big hits that it had in the past.

From the day we travelled to Sydney from Adelaide to see the Roads to Riches seminar,  we haven’t looked back. We have letter boxed dropped, we send out new client letters every week, we have our Queen of Referrals program working, we have a monthly newsletter, (we have just completed the 4th and now feel we have an ongoing style, it took a few months to get it right ) we have used the ‘Raise the Dead’ (letters from the Toolkit to get ‘lost’ clients back), we have changed our Birthday letters and they now get a great response, we are about to do a new therapist letter and every time we have a few cancellations ( the bane of the Beauty Clinic) we send an SMS and hey presto, our days are full again, and not only are they full the figures continue to climb and especially on the days when it seems we have given our services away for so little !

We have revamped our website and continue to do so and we now have a VIP Club, the members have come directly from our website and every month we send them advance notice of specials and offers. Last month we had a VIP night which was a big hit everyone loved it and the cash register hummed !  We have recently launched our Christmas promotion of buy one Gift Voucher get one free and have set a target to sell 300 this month !

We have employed a receptionist on the recommendation of WSM and have just employed another therapist taking our total to 9 staff and they all get the hours they want and need. Since May the monthly income has increased every month and last month  our income was up almost 50% from Oct 08.

WSM have changed many of my preconceived ideas about marketing and many times over the last few months I have just closed my eyes and said ‘let’s do it’,  even though I was scared and doubtful of the outcome, every time I’ve done that we have had an awesome result.

I am paying my bills, paying off debt and I am about to consider a regular salary for myself with plans for a second Clinic early next year.  Personally, I am off the tools completely and my manager is almost off them as well which means that soon she will be able to concentrate completely on the day to day running of the business.

Thanks to the team at WSM for creating this program and for seeing the beauty industry as a worthy recipient, you have changed my business completely and I am extremely grateful to you all, I am also grateful to my sister as without her recommendation I wouldn’t have considered getting on board.
